The 29th of February 2024 marked a significant milestone in the long history of economic and business relations between the Republic Poland and the United Arab Emirates – after several months of preparations, Poland finally joined other countries, which had already sealed their business links with the Emirate of Dubai, by establishing the Polish Business Council in Dubai.
With some other councils operating in the region for 2-3 decades, this event had been long overdue and was received enthusiastically by local and Polish media, as well as by the community of Polish entrepreneurs and professionals in Dubai, who can finally unite under a locally established and recognized entity.
Polish Business Council in Dubai was a new addition in a large and ever-growing group of over 30 sector-specific business groups and over 60 country councils licensed and regulated by Dubai Chambers, with new entities being established and added to those lists every month.
As per Dubai Chambers’ vision, the councils should play an active role in making sure that their members actively contribute to Dubai’s vibrant economic scene, by creating endless opportunities for networking, promotion and collaboration. They are also a link between their members and the local and federal government entities, and a portal through which local companies interested in other markets can connect with new partners and expand overseas.
Following the not-for-profit model, the Councils are fully focused on creating value for their members through organizing networking events, business workshops, seminars, allowing their members to promote their services, products and expertise, while, at the same time, sharing their knowledge and experience with a broader business community.
The establishment of the Polish Business Councils not only allows the Polish businesses and experts based in the UAE to form a tightly knit group but it is also a chance of increasing the visibility of Poland in the Gulf and beyond. Through inter-council events and joint initiatives, Polish Business Council members can actively engage with potential partners from all over the globe.
With over 6,000 Polish people being full time UAE residents, there is a huge potential to form an active, engaged and professionally managed platform that will benefit all its members, attract new ones and increase chances of success for every Polish business and professional choosing UAE as their next destination. The Council’s goal is to reach all Polish companies entering the local market and to support them in becoming a vital and recognized contributor to Dubai economy, thus strengthening the position of Poland as a global player across all industry sectors.
